During two days participants had a chance to discuss e-learning in India from an institutional perspective. All Indian partners presented their institutional strategy under the MIELES’ framework and European institutions contributed by presenting case studies and exchanging knowledge with participants.

The MIELE’s workshop “Launching the pilot Phase: Senior Management Commitment” took place last 2-3 May 2018, in the premises of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. The workshop, introduced by Javier Menendez, Spanish Embassy in Delhi. Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (Spain), Nicolás Patrici, University of Barcelona (Spain) and authorities of the IISC was attended by more than 25 participants from different institutions part of the MIELES project.

The workshop represented the key milestone of the MIELES project and gave the opportunity to participants to advance in the preparation of their pilot projects and work on their e-learning strategy development with the support of the step-by-step guide to develop an e-learning strategy in Higher Education Institutions. Participants discussed the dynamics of the pilot projects and come up with specific objectives for implementing them. It was also an opportunity to debate about their respective technical and infrastructure needs, and how the purchase of equipment in the context of the project could be optimised.

During the second day european cases were presented in order to enhance the discussion. Representatives from the following institutions introduced their best practices: The University of the Peloponnese (Greece), KTH (Sweden), UniRoma-La Sapienza (Italy), TU Berlin (Germany) and IL3 – Universitat de Barcelona (Spain).  These presentations were followed by a round of discussion followed by a practical break out group exercise in which Indian partners discussed how to adapt their strategies by using EU cases.
